I had all kinds of questions and Mark was really helpful, prompt and reassuring with his replies.

As agreed, I collected the bike from Caledonian Cycles in Muizenberg, where the staff were great. In particular they were very patient and took time to adjust things on the bike for me and get me sorted out with other bits of kit that I might need for a two week solo tour.

Initially i thought I wanted a road bike, but the mtb I actually hired was exactly what was needed. I had a fantastic couple of weeks, with absolutely zero problems with the bike (not even a puncture), so my thanks to Mark and everyone at Caledonian for making this happen.

I did some road riding with Mark last time I was in Cape Town which were wonderful, but the MTB’ing was almost better - the routes are so beautiful, safe and peaceful.

My son wanted a more technical ride, but quickly forgot about this once absorbed in the climbing and scenery. He also crashed (entirely his own fault) but Mark just got the bike fixed up for the next day’s ride with zero fuss.

Mark’s MTBs are solid, well maintained and fit for purpose for the tracks we rode on. I even brought my nephew on the first ride who had no prior MTB experience and he did fine through the day.

I booked the rides at the last minute and Mark couldn’t do enough to accommodate us, with pedals, helmets and water bottles all provided.
