About Us
Having spent many happy holidays in Cape Town, Mark and Gaynor decided to follow their hearts and move to the stunning Cape and set up a cycling tour business. Being a very experienced and passionate cyclist Mark believes cycling is the only way to see and experience how much Cape Town and her surrounds has to offer and how truly breathtaking the scenery really is.
Come and see for yourself...
Mark is a THETA registered tour guide (WC 6770) for the Western Cape Province and the Garden Route.

About Cape Town
Situated on the south western tip of Africa, Cape Town and the Western Cape is recognised as one of the most beautiful places on earth. Offering a range of attractions, breathtaking sights and endless activities, it is a year-round CYCLING destination with friendly people, a mild climate and rich cultural heritage.
And with a host of activities on offer, you’re spoilt for choice. From nature reserves, scenic rides and hiking trails to adrenaline rushes in the form of the highest commercial bungee jump in the world at Bloukrans Bridge, world-class shark cage diving or white water canoeing on the Breede or Orange Rivers, to local whale watching, the best in the world, land based or by sea! In addition, we’re a golf lover’s paradise sporting some of the best golf courses in the world!
If Culture and Heritage is what you’re after, then there’s no shortage either. Walk past loud blubbery seals sunning themselves on the pier and take the ferry to Robben Island to visit liberation icon and former South Africa president, Nelson Mandela’s prison cell. Marvel at nature’s best axework ,Table Mountain, recently voted one of the New 7 wonders of the World. Then join the boisterous, mad-cap minstrels dancing in the Cape Minstrel Carnival and don’t even think of missing out on a township tour and the opportunity to experience traditional Cape Flats life and African culture and cuisine, for yourself.
If it's business as usual for you then Cape Town and the Western Cape, winner of the 2018 Travel Awards for Africa's leading destination,it answers all your business needs. A convention, conference and investment hub, the destination consistently wins 90% of all conferences it bids for.
The Argus Cycle Tour now known as the Cape Town Cycle Tour
Having completed my 10th Argus on March 8th 2020, either as a elite Single rider, Tandem Captain/Stoker or escorting client's around, I would whole heartily recommend this World Class event to anyone interested in cycling or who is looking for their next challenge! It's a scenic tour around the Cape Peninsula from Cape Town Centre towards Cape Point and back via Fish Hoek and Chapman's Peak, finishing at Green Point next to the magnificent football stadium, a sight to behold in itself.
It is not an easy 109 km/68 mile route, undulating most of the way (height gain of around 1,300 meters(4,000 feet) but very rewarding just for the awesome vibe of being a part of the World's largest timed cycling race. 36,000 cyclists participated this year, so why don't you become one of those in 2025? Having done the London and New York Marathons several times I can honestly say the organisation is fantastic and easily comparable to those, if not better.
Demand for hire is understandably high so make sure you book well in advance for the 2025 event March.
We have a full range of high quality ROAD bikes for all sizes (including Tandems) and Hybrids/MTB with slicks and we can provide the full range of accessories including pedals, helmets etc for your convenience if not bringing your own. We also do training rides around the course all year so you can also get plenty of practice in for the main event!
Again we are running a PRE-ARGUS TRAINING TOUR along the Garden Route arriving back in Cape Town on the Thursday 11th March to get you ready for the big day. Day tours are also running during race week, please send an mail to enquire about availability and pricing of both.
Do something different, do something for yourself or for charity, and make the Argus in 2025. You won't regret it!
